It’s True! New iMacs, Mac Minis, & Mac Pros

Well, the rumors turned out to be true.  Apple had a BIG day today upgrading the desktop line with brand new versions of the iMac, Mac Mini, and Mac Pro, as well as their AirPort Extreme Base Station and Time Capsule.

The price on the computers have come down, as well… The 20″ iMac is now only  $1,199 and the 24″ is $1,499…. which is the same price as the old 20″ model.  “Our flagship 24-inch iMac with twice the memory and twice the storage is now available for just $1,499,” said Apple chief operating officer Tim Cook.

The specs on the 20″ model are a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of 1066 MHz DDR3 memory, a 320GB Serial ATA hard drive and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics.  The 24″ offers up to a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of 1066 MHz DDR3 memory, a 640GB or 1TB Serial ATA hard drive, and a variety of graphics technology from NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics to the NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 or ATI Radeon HD 4850 discrete graphics for ultimate performance.

The Time Capsule and AirPort Extreme base station have a nifty feature that allows you to set up a secondary “guest” network so your friends and family can get on your wireless without having to have your password.
